Patrick Stevedores Pty Ltd has leased 17.6ha of reclaimed area known as ‘The Knuckle’ within the Port Botany precinct. Due to Port Botany Terminal nearing capacity and limiting Patrick’s ability to achieve a high standard of customer service, ‘The Knuckle’ area is being redeveloped to expand the quay line 900m to 1400m, thus increasing the capacity of their operation.

This project is a key milestone in the growth of Martinus Rail. Through our strategic partnerships, this is the first design and construction project being delivered by the Martinus Rail team. The project progressed well with all construction activities delivered ahead of program.
The overall scope for the project involves:

  • Design, supply and install the sole plate rail system into an existing concrete trough to extend the quay line capacity
  • Design, supply and install drainage and earthing systems for the new crane rails
  • Design, supply and install buffer stops for the knuckle crane rails
  • Design, supply and install a trough infill solution

This project reinforces Martinus Rail’s capacity to undertake projects across all markets within the rail construction industry and also highlights our ability to collaborate with leading design companies to achieve the most effective solution for the client.
