FCC Construction Australia and Martinus Group launch AlignWide Alliance: a partnership with purpose for complex brownfield rail delivery
Global constructor FCC and Australian rail specialist Martinus have announced the formation of the AlignWide Alliance - a dedicated partnership designed to deliver complex brownfield rail programs safely, reliably and with minimal disruption, while shaping the next generation of integrated rail infrastructure across Australia.
In a context where the sector is facing collaborative contractual models and a clear commitment to sustainability and efficiency, AlignWide offers a new path for the future, prioritising collaboration, capacity building and long-term value over short-term profits.
As the infrastructure sector moves towards more integrated, outcomes-focused delivery, AlignWide represents a new model for major rail programs – one built on trust, shared capability, smarter planning to reduce disruption and strengthen local delivery ecosystems.
AlignWide brings together FCC’s global metro experience – including Toronto’s Ontario Line, Lima Metro, Oporto Metro, Doha Metro, Riyadh Metro and Madrid Metro - with Martinus’ local expertise across Inland Rail, City Rail Link and Sydney Metro.
The alliance combines international best practice with deep Australian experience to deliver brownfield programs that are efficient, sustainable and system-minded.
Through AlignWide, FCC and Martinus are challenging traditional delivery models - applying a manufacturing mindset and digital delivery tools to improve predictability, safety, and whole-of-life performance.
A long-term investment in Australia’s rail capability
AlignWide is more than a delivery partnership. Since signing an exclusive agreement in 2023, FCC and Martinus have been building a platform for sustained capability – preparing for a pipeline of complex brownfield programs that demand both scale and sensitivity.
A key part of this investment is a dedicated Railway Innovation, Safety and Training Hub in Melbourne, an investment in the latest technology and processes that will create jobs, apprenticeships and supply-chain opportunities while increasing safety, reducing cost and delay risks across future programs.
